Description

This 1968 Ford Mustang GT fastback is powered by an S-code 390ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual gearbox and was one of 3,708 ’68 Mustang fastbacks built with this powertrain combination. It was originally sold by St. Croix Motors in Hudson, Wisconsin in June 1968. The previous owner reportedly restored the car in Texas beginning in 2010, a process that included exterior and interior color changes. The seller acquired it in 2012.

This Mustang is now offered with a Marti Elite report, a copy of the window sticker, photos of the restoration, and a clean title in the seller’s name.

A repaint in Highland Green was performed early this decade and is a color change from the original Royal Maroon.

The previous owner installed 15″ Bullitt-style American Racing wheels, which are mounted with Fisk Classic tires.

The black interior is a color change from the original red, and it features a four-speed floor shifter, a factory steering wheel, and woodgrain trim. An aftermarket stereo head unit has been installed.

A 120-mph speedometer is accompanied by an 8k-rpm tachometer. The five-digit odometer shows just over 75k miles.

The 390ci S-code V8 is topped by a four-barrel carburetor and was factory rated at 325 horsepower. A chrome air cleaner and chrome valve covers are featured. The seller has performed an oil and filter change and a tuneup.

A copy of the window sticker shows factory options composed of the 390ci four-barrel V8, four-speed manual transmission, the GT Equipment Group, Wide Oval white-sidewall tires, center console, power front disc brakes, AM radio, and a heavy-duty battery. The total retail price with options was $3615.06. The Marti report provides additional information about this car’s build combination and production date.
